Why is it recommended to use mounting grid while assembling thermo film under tile?

On the grid the tiles are connected with one another and with the primary levelcrete. This fact prevents tiles from replacing on the thermo film or their falling out. The most important moment is to ground the metallic lath which provides absolute electrical safety.

If after thermo film laying there are some cut thermo film strips left, can they be used and how?

Cut elements can be connected in series in one strip and can be used as temporary heating, for example, under the carpet.

Can thermo film be installed on the ceiling?

Yes, it can be, because thermo film represents a heating system based on distant infrared radiation. Heat rays (infrared radiation) are spread proportionally in straight lines and aren’t absorbed by air. This gives you the opportunity to direct them at people or at objects without heating up air and wasting system energy in vain. Heated floor and objects in its turn reflect heat on people and air creating comfort temperature. At this infrared radiation can be directed not only at all the location surface but also only at the place where people are working. In other words you have got the opportunity to organize zonal heat.

Can thermo film be used in damp locations?

Yes, it can. Such system is often used in bathrooms, shower rooms, on the way out of the garage etc. The basis of thermo film is polyether sheet which has such features as water resistance and endurance. The most important is to insulate carefully the cut lines of copper foil and contacts. The ground loop should be made with the metal lath. For electrical and hydro insulation you should use bitumen, silicone etc.

If it is impossible to lay all the film lengthwise due to some obstacles on the floor, how to overcome the difficulty ?

To overcome the difficulty you should use the segments of less length and connect them in series into one strip, in other words get round the obstacle with wiring.

Is there need of coupling mechanism under synthetic coverings, linoleum, laminate as in case of electrical warm floors ?

No. If it is supposed to use synthetic coverings, linoleum, laminate, parquet (for warm floor) in the room then in such case only foil heat reflecting material and thermo film are used. The material is attached to the floor with double-faced painters scotch. Thermo film and the material are also fixed to avoid sliding and a possible risk of mechanical damage. Carpets, rugs or other synthetic coverings are laid on the top as stated above.

What is the obligatory condition while using thermo film?

The obligatory condition is using assembling material with heat reflecting effect for sheet an floor covering which reduces heat loss. As a heat reflecting material it is allowed to use the material covered with metalized lavsan or polypropylene sheet. In case of laying under soft floor coverings: linoleum, synthetic coverings and their analogues we recommend to use the reflecting material with soft insert, for example, infra flex or energy flex (heat insulation). In premises subjected to significant mechanical loads we recommend to use material with hard insert ( for example roll plug or infra flex 3 mm thick) under ceramic tile, ceramic granite, parquet and parquet board.

What are the elementary rules of the accident prevention while assembling film warm floor ?

  • IT IS PROHIBITED to use ALUMINUM FOIL or other materials on similar basis as a heat reflecting material. Use only those materials which have been recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Metallic lath MUST BE GROUNDED.
  • IT IS PROHIBITED to use contact clamps, tips or other units from different manufacturers.
  • IT IS PROHIBITED to start heating the floor without previously insulating contacts and cut lines.
  • IT IS A MUST to test (to turn on) the heating system before laying the final covering.
